New powers to crack down on catapulting

Everyone has a right to enjoy our riversides and other open spaces without feeling threatened - that is why we’re taking action on catapult misuse to help protect residents, property and wildlife across our borough.

Thank you to the 1,400 people who took part in our consultation - this week, we've approved new measures that give our wardens and the police stronger powers to act where catapults are misused in public spaces.

Discover Thrift Lane

If you’re walking, rolling or riding, we’ve improved Thrift Lane bridleway, between Cox Green and Holyport (Sturt Green, SL6 2JF) by cutting back vegetation and resurfacing the southern stretch. We also plan to resurface the northern part.

Why not take advantage of the long bank holiday visit and take a visit?

Council agrees refreshed plan to deliver a cleaner, greener and safer borough

A refreshed Council Plan for 2026/27, setting out how we will deliver a cleaner, greener and safer borough, with a strong focus on prevention and early support, was approved at a meeting of the Council on Tuesday 21 April.

The updated plan responds to ongoing financial pressures, rising demand for services and changes to national funding.

Renting is changing

From today, the law around renting has changed for renters and landlords.

Landlords should read the latest guidance, get on top of these important changes and how it will affect how tenancies are managed.
