Borough’s first Preloved to Reloved event a huge success

Thank you to everyone who came down to our first Preloved to Reloved event last week. Around 80 good quality items were donated to Thames Hospice, with six items donated to The Baby Bank on the day.

Taking place on Saturday 14 March at the Pirate Park in Windsor, the first ever Preloved to Reloved event made it easy for people to donate workable household goods for a second life – supported by partners at Serco and FCC.

Eid Mubarak

Eid Mubarak to those who celebrate in the Royal Borough! We wish you a very happy, peaceful and prosperous celebration.

Warm Homes Grant now open

Residents may be eligible for the Warm Homes Grant, a central government scheme designed to help make homes warmer, healthier and cheaper to heat. It provides free or heavily subsidised energy‑saving improvements for qualifying households.

The grant can fund measures such as insulation, low‑carbon heating systems, solar panels, draught‑proofing and energy‑efficient windows or doors. These upgrades aim to reduce heat loss, lower bills and improve overall home comfort.

The scheme is intended for households on lower incomes or living in homes with lower energy‑efficiency ratings. It runs until March 2028.

Windsor in the spotlight at this week’s state visit

Windsor welcomed the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, this week. The visit is the first by a Nigerian head of state in 37 years!

The sun was shining as residents enjoyed a traditional military procession with a band and representatives from the Royal Air Force, the Royal Marines and the Royal Navy. Onlookers were also able to see the King and President Bola Tinubu in a ceremonial carriage before a banquet at Windsor Castle later that day.

Events coming up this week include Bazaar & Coffee Morning at St Marks Crescent Methodist Church, Maidenhead, Royal Free Singers and soloists at Windsor Parish Church and Afternoon Tea at Spencer Denney Centre, Windsor.
