Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day will be commemorated in the Royal Borough to honour and remember the brave troops who gave their lives in two world wars and other conflicts.

Civic Services are to be held on Sunday 9 November 2025 starting at 10.50am. The wreath laying ceremonies and two minutes silence at the war memorials will be followed by church services at the Windsor Parish Church and St Mary’s Borough Church in Maidenhead.

On Tuesday 11 November 2025, a two-minute silence will be held across the borough at 11am in an Act of Remembrance - a moment of solemn reflection to honour those who have served and sacrificed in times of conflict.

Residents who would like to attend the short ceremony at the war memorial outside Maidenhead Town Hall are encouraged to be in place by 10.50am.

Maidenhead War Memorial Cleaning

In preparation for Remembrance Sunday, we've carefully cleaned Maidenhead's war memorial — a cherished symbol of honour and reflection.

This work is part of our ongoing commitment to a greener, cleaner, and safer borough, ensuring our public spaces are well cared for and ready as we come together to remember.

Thank you to teams involved in cleaning this important part of our local history and community ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

School admissions will open for students starting school or moving up to junior school. Parents or carers can register to apply through the portal from Tuesday 11 November 2025 to start the application process.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 15 January 2026.

Come along to the care leavers job fair at Maidenhead Library

As part of Care Leavers Month, Achieving for Children will be supporting a Care Leavers Jobs Fair at Maidenhead library on Tuesday 25 November, 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Jobseekers will have the opportunity to connect with employers looking for staff to fill their vacancies. Employers across a variety of sectors will be attending this event, so this is an ideal forum for candidates to understand the local jobs market, and the skills required to be successful in their applications.

What does a healthier borough mean to you?

Share your thoughts in the consultation for our draft Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, a road map setting out how we can help make everyone healthier in the Royal Borough and support local communities needing extra help.

Your feedback on the direction and main themes of our plans will help us finalise our strategy before it comes into force early next year.

The online consultation on RBWM Together, which runs until 7 December, has easy read and large print versions of the questions and draft strategy. Plus our borough libraries also have draft strategy copies.
