First-of-its-kind accommodation opens in Windsor for children in care

A new accommodation for children in care, the first of its kind in the Royal Borough, has opened in Windsor as part of the council’s long-term commitment to giving children and young people the best start in life.

Children who live in secure, safe and caring homes often progress faster. The introduction of a local in-borough children’s home will provide stable accommodation and enable the children to remain close to their support networks such as friends, family and school.

Kinship Care Week

This week marks Kinship Care Week, a time to shine a light on the vital role of kinship carers - those raising a child of a family member or a friend.

This includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and family friends - who step up in extraordinary ways to keep children connected to their families, roots and communities.

This Kinship Care Week let’s raise a teacup together to kinship families everywhere!

New bins for a cleaner borough

You may have noticed that we’ve begun to replace some of our bins in Maidenhead Town Centre – our contractors have been out and about installing these across the town.

This comes as the first phase of a borough-wide rollout, which will see public waste bins across the borough refreshed to help keep our streets cleaner.

International E-Waste Day

Tuesday 14 October is International E-Waste Day – a great time to recycle old cables and small electricals. Just leave them in a small bag on top of your recycling bin on your collection day.
