We are delighted to announce that we raised £5,500 for charity on Saturday 9 August 2014 AND had a really good Fun Day!

We cannot thank everyone enough who sponsored us, donated prizes and volunteered to help. The day is only possible with your help.

We were really lucky with the weather (only two gazebos tried to escape on the day and one the night before!)

We presented one of the charity cheques at the OGAFCA AGM on Thursday September 18 2014 at Braywood Memorial Hall. Photo

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the day special. See you next year !

We are delighted to announce that the proceeds of the Fifield Fun Day this year will go to Rosie's Rainbow Fund, a local charity for sick and disabled children and MacMillan Cancer Support.

As usual, we will also be donating funds to a number of smaller local charities and not-for-profit organisations including:-

Windsor Horse Rangers
1st Slough Scouts
Braywood Memorial Hall
Braywood Cricket Club
Oakley Green. Fifield and District Community Association

Rosie’s Rainbow Fund offers bereavement support for families after the loss of a child. In the community they provide music therapy for special needs children in schools and centres around Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. They also support disabled children in schools and respite centres with essential equipment.

MacMillan is a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with cancer, they also help carers, families and communities. They fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres. But they give so much more than medical help.

Both charities have promised to come along on the day and would love to see you to tell about their valuable work..

If you would like to help, donate a raffle prize, or sponsor one of the attractions (of which there will be many!) please get in touch.

Alternatively, just come along and have Fun!

We look forward to seeing you at the next Fifield Fun Day !!!

About the Fifield Fun Day

The Fifield Fun Day has been held in August in Fifield village since 2003.

Originally the brain child of Gary & Helen – former landlords of the Fifield Inn – the Fun Day was successfully run by them and their team of volunteers for the first 6 years. Since then a stalwart team of volunteers has carried on the good work and in 2013 it came under the auspices of the Community Association.

The Fun Day was originally held in the grounds of Blenheims, courtesy of Paul and Tina and then, three years ago, it moved to it’s current venue - “Deep Meadows” the home of David & Patricia Buck. Deep Meadows gives the whole event a cosy, country fete atmosphere and the steam trains add extra nostalgia.

Every year the committee strive to improvement the entertainment on offer and the amount raised for charity. We aim to support two main local charities each year and a number of smaller local charities, children & youth groups and not-for-profit organisations in the Fifield area.

We hope that the favourite attractions will always be there:- the Fair Ground, the Dog Show, Punch & Judy, Tombola, Raffle. Auction, Beer Tent and BBQ, but we are always on the look out for new and unusual things for all the family to do, so please do let us know if you have any ideas.

Similarly, if you feel you can contribute please contact us. We need donations (raffle and auction prizes) sponsorship and, more importantly, volunteers. If you can spare a few hours before, after, or on the day, we would be very grateful as the Fun Day would not be possible without the generosity of the locals.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Fifield Fun Day !!!
